QC fail workflow

What happens if a bag fails QC before export?

A QC fail should not silently move into international delivery. 1688 Bags pauses the export path, documents the issue, and helps the buyer choose a resolution before repack, consolidation, or DDP handoff continues.

When QC happens
After seller delivery to the China-side handling point and before export handoff.
What gets checked
Variant, color, size, hardware, stitching, lining, odor, accessories, and packing condition.
Buyer decision
Replace, renegotiate, switch seller, cancel affected item, refund review, or ship partial order.
Main rule
The order resumes only after the buyer approves the next action.

Resolution path

The decision moves in four steps, not in guesswork.

1. Pause export

Hold the affected item before international delivery starts.

2. Show evidence

Share photos or notes showing variant mismatch, visible defect, packing risk, or missing accessory.

3. Compare options

Review replacement, seller negotiation, alternate listing, cancellation, refund review, or partial shipment.

4. Resume after approval

Continue repack, consolidation, or DDP route only when the buyer confirms the next action.

QC hold triggers

Some issues should stop the parcel until the buyer decides.

Small-batch sourcing works best when problems are visible early. A hold gives the buyer a chance to protect the order before international delivery cost and time are committed.

Wrong variant

The received bag does not match the selected color, size, hardware, strap, or SKU option.

Visible defect

Scratches, stains, glue marks, edge paint cracks, warped shape, loose threads, or damaged hardware.

Material doubt

The listing claim and received texture, thickness, finish, or seller answer do not align.

Packing risk

Weak folding, crushed box, missing dust bag, poor protection, or high risk of export damage.

Missing accessory

Chain strap, pouch, hangtag, dust bag, gift box, or other listed component is missing.

Resolution options buyers usually compare

Replace with same seller

Use when the defect is isolated and the seller can resend the correct version quickly.

Switch listing or seller

Use when seller answers are weak, variants are inconsistent, or the quality risk looks structural.

Ship partial order

Use when only part of a multi-item order is affected and the buyer wants to keep the clean items moving.

Cancel affected item

Use when the item no longer fits the buyer goal after photos or seller answers are reviewed.

Refund review

Use when seller terms, platform handling, or negotiation path supports refund or partial compensation.

Upgrade packing

Use when the bag itself passes but box, dust bag, folding, or protection needs improvement before export.

What happens if a 1688 or Taobao bag fails QC?

The export path is paused, the issue is documented, and the buyer reviews replacement, seller negotiation, alternate listing, partial shipment, cancellation, or refund options before the parcel moves forward.

What types of QC problems are treated as serious?

Wrong variant, wrong color, visible damage, hardware defects, stitching failure, lining damage, strong odor, material mismatch, missing accessories, or unsafe packing can all trigger a QC hold.

Can 1688 Bags switch to another seller after a QC fail?

Yes. If the source seller cannot resolve the issue, we can compare another listing or seller before the buyer decides whether to continue the order.

Does QC remove every risk?

No. QC reduces avoidable visible issues before export, but it cannot guarantee every hidden defect, long-term wear, seller stock change, or customs timing outcome.
